Open a 3D print file and explore what's inside it

preslice opens 3D print files (3MF, STL and OBJ) in a browser tab. A .3mf is a zip archive containing XML, JSON, config files, images and more; for one of those it shows the print settings, the filament in each slot, the build plates, the mesh objects, and what six security checks found. An STL or OBJ shows its mesh. Convert can translate those settings for another slicer. The model and the file stay in your browser; Convert sends only the print settings and the hardware you pick.

It reads PrusaSlicer, Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer, Cura and Creality Print, each in that slicer's own spelling. Prusa writes temperature, Bambu writes nozzle_temperature, Cura writes material_print_temperature, and all three are the nozzle temp. A .3mf from another slicer still opens for its geometry.

Browsers are built to open files from strangers safely. Slicers are not. So look at the file in a browser tab first, then decide whether it goes into a slicer at all.
