How preslice handles your file
Convert and hardware search talk to the preslice server. Everything else happens in your browser. The mesh, the file and its name never leave.
What does Convert send?
Convert sends the print settings, including notes and custom G-code, the printer, nozzle, bed and filaments you convert to, their colours, and your calibration values. You get the converted settings back. The server keeps no copy of the settings. It counts which printers, nozzles, filaments and calibration values appear, with nothing that identifies you.
Hardware you pick from My print settings goes as the whole entry. An entry new to preslice can join the shared hardware search after a manual review.
Take anything private out of the notes before you convert.
What does hardware search send?
A search sends what you type and your saved printers, to rank matches. The server keeps nothing from a search.
Are there cookies or analytics?
No cookies and no analytics. The server logs each request without your IP address and deletes the logs after 30 days.
How can I check this?
On the website, click the airplane button in the header to turn on offline mode, and wait for the download to finish. Then turn off Wi-Fi: a file still opens, edits and downloads.
Or open your browser's Network panel and open a file. The page sends nothing. Press Convert and one request appears, far smaller than the file.
preslice offline, the desktop app, connects only when you click Check for updates or turn on Update automatically.
How do I remove my files?
Open the file list in the header and click Remove all.
