PrusaSlicer to Cura

Yes, with more losses than into other slicers. Cura prints one plate and has no volume roles or layer ranges.

What happens to my plates?

Cura prints one plate. Bed 1, or the bed you pick, sits on the build plate. The other beds park beside it and nothing is removed. The Changes panel shows Plate N / off the bed / Cura prints one plate. Drag them onto the bed.

What carries over?

Each filament becomes one extruder, up to the printer's extruder count. Past that, filaments merge onto kept ones. Supports and seam paint travel as bytes in the model, but Cura ignores them and shows no row.

What gets dropped?

  • Modifiers and negative volumes, shown as N volumes dropped with the object names behind it.
  • Layer ranges: Layer range / not carried / Cura has no per-height settings.
  • Paint colour: Paint / N painted triangles / not carried.
  • Object settings: Object settings / N objects / dropped.
  • Part settings: dropped, with no row.

Other shared losses are in what a conversion cannot carry.

Which Cura settings will not come from my file?

Any Cura setting PrusaSlicer has no key for, such as ironing_flow, which stays at its default of 10 %.

Can I convert it back?

A Cura file has no volumes, ranges or paint to bring back. See Cura to PrusaSlicer.
