The 3mf has modified G-codes
Bambu Studio opened a project with
The 3mf has following modified G-codes in filament or printer presets:, a
list of names, then
Please confirm that these modified G-codes are safe to prevent any damage to the machine!
(Plater.cpp).
OrcaSlicer says
The 3MF has the following modified G-code in filament or printer presets:
(Plater.cpp).
Can I print it anyway?
Yes, once you have read what changed. The printer runs this G-code as it is, so a wrong temperature or move happens for real.
Why does the slicer warn?
The project's printer or filament preset carries custom G-code that differs
from the system preset it is based on. Bambu Studio checks 12 settings
(PresetBundle.cpp):
| Setting | Runs |
|---|---|
machine_start_gcode, machine_end_gcode |
Before and after the print |
filament_start_gcode, filament_end_gcode |
When a filament starts and ends |
change_filament_gcode |
At each filament change |
layer_change_gcode, before_layer_change_gcode |
At each layer |
machine_pause_gcode |
At a pause |
time_lapse_gcode |
For each timelapse frame |
printing_by_object_gcode |
Between objects in by-object mode |
template_custom_gcode |
Where you insert custom G-code on a layer |
wrapping_detection_gcode |
For the wrapping check |
The 3mf has following customized filament or printer presets: is the same
warning for a preset that no system preset backs at all.
Is the file dangerous?
Usually not. Designers tune start G-code for purge lines or a cooler bed.
Read it anyway: a start script can set temperatures, home off the bed, or
save settings to the printer's memory with M500, which outlives the print.
See can a .3mf carry a virus.
How do I read the G-code with preslice?
- Drop the
.3mfon preslice.co. - Open the Raw tab and open
Metadata/project_settings.config. - Search for a name from the warning, such as
machine_start_gcode.
Look for temperatures (M104, M109, M140, M190), M500, and any line
you cannot explain.
How do I get rid of the warning?
Load the file, then pick your own printer and filament presets in the slicer. Their G-code replaces the file's.
Can I turn the warning off?
Yes. Both slicers put a Don't show again box on the warning. Leave it
unticked if you open files from people you do not know.
