Bambu Studio to Cura

Yes, but Cura holds less than Bambu Studio does. The Notes table lists each loss.

Where do my plates go?

Cura prints one plate. The first plate, or the one you pick, sits on the bed. The others park beside it, and nothing is removed. Each parked plate gets a row: Plate N / off the bed / Cura prints one plate. Drag them onto the bed.

What happens to my filaments?

Each filament slot becomes one extruder, up to the printer definition's machine_extruder_count. Past that, filaments merge by material, then by colour. Pick the same filament twice to share a slot.

What does Cura drop?

  • Modifiers and negative volumes: N volumes dropped, with object names behind the expander.
  • Layer ranges: Layer range / not carried / Cura has no per-height settings.
  • Colour paint: Paint / N painted triangles / not carried. Cura paints with a texture, not per triangle.
  • Object settings: Object settings / N objects / dropped.
  • Part settings: dropped, with no row.

Supports and seam paint ride along in the model, and Cura ignores them, also with no row. Shared losses are in what a conversion cannot carry.

Which Cura settings will not come from my file?

Anything Cura declares that Bambu Studio does not set keeps the printer definition's value, or Cura's own default. One is bridge_fan_speed, which opens at 100 %.

Does the geometry change?

No. The weld step is skipped for Cura, so the mesh ships as it was.

What about going the other way?
